Dr. Hongmin Qin from Texas A&M University was invited to Biology Institute for exchanges and visits
On July 17, 2015, Dr. Hongmin Qin from Texas A&M University was invited to Biology Institute of Shandong Academy of Sciences for academic exchanges. Jianguo Shi, director of Biology Institute, Kechun Liu, the deputy director, and related researchers held a meeting exchange with Dr. Qin.
Dr. Qin made an interesting report about “Theoretical guidance of chlamydomonas research for human leptotrichosis” in this exchange, introducing the effect of FAP20, the double couplet body microtubules internal binding protein, for the cilia planar asymmetric waveform movement and its stability, which promoted the understanding, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cilia related diseases. The two sides put forward cooperation intention for subsequent application research, hoping work together to study the model establishment and related applications of zebrafish polycystic kidney drug screening.
Dr. Qin is the tenured associate professor of Texas A&M University, and mainly engages in genomics research. She has won the postdoctoral fellowship of Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation and the travel award of Genetics Society of America, and so on.
